Leopard and screenshots
So Apple made a dedicated downloads folder for MAC OS X Leopard to help remove clutter from the desktop, but left the location when one takes screenshots (Command + Option + 3), as the desktop. What?!
So I discovered a way to change the location myself.
defaults write com.apple.screencapture location path/to/new/location
Type that into Terminal.app, with ‘path/to/new/location’ being the path to the folder where you want the screenshot file to be saved, then press return. You may have to log out and back in.
